Walgreens has strict legal policies. When they first signed off we put out a release (last year) and they were pretty PO’ed that we didn’t get approval for it first. We just mentioned it and figured that as long as it was true, it was no problem, but after that we promised to go through the proper channels. We expect approval any day now, but if not we will put out another release with Walgreens as part of it, and this time, keep Walgreens out of the title. We can say it in the body because its true, but Walgreens cannot be the main topic of the release without going through their legal department.
On the amount available, I do not know Walgreens policies. It would not be uncommon for them to consider us a new product, and they probably do not want to put huge resources up for something they have no stats on. So they scan in a small amount at a time and they limit the number of purchases to get a gauge on how well it sells and how many they should have in stock. Over time they will expand it to a much bigger level when they feel comfortable that they need it.
As a side note, I think it shows great ignorance by whomever made that post, or for anyone for that matter without 20 years of retail buying experience to speculate on Walgreens policies, regardless of what they are. They got to be a billion dollar business for a reason, so I will assume they know what they are doing. How they roll out the product has absolutely no bearing on any of us at all, and anyone trying to gauge the type of deal or success we are having with them by looking at the number available or amount you can buy would better serve their time looking at the daily horoscopes because they have about the same to do with it. I do not intend to insult anyone, and that is the last thing I’d like to do, but I’ve received many questions and posts like this from people and it is just plain stupid. I have NO idea why they show 48 bottles at a time, and I have no idea why they limit purchases to 4, and I really could care less because it means nothing at all.
