Pipa, from what I have heard, the remainder of the C-1 through C-3 checks was combined into the C-4 heavy check (the D-check) in order to save time and money, and was originally scheduled for May 26th.
As time progressed, I heard that it had been moved up to the first week in April.
Then as time progressed further, I heard the last week of March - but mind you, I never put much confidence in those "rumors."
Now, it does appear that the talk around town was legitimate. This "scheduled maintenance" - which was so important that Baltia felt the need to PR it (and you know they are famous for never PRing anything), must be that combined C-1 through C-4 check, which has been estimated to fall between $500 thousand and $1 million.....and, which by the way was paid for before the PR was released...is what we must be seeing right now.
From all that I see, it actually looks like Baltia is ahead of schedule....by about 7 to 10 days.
I would also tend to believe that we will soon hear something about the simulator training, as the goal was to get N706BL and the crew all ready for phase III at the same time.
Honestly.....IMO.....I think we are moving along very well.
And....let me add.....it is still extremely hard to get anyone at HQ on the phone. LOL....if you text Barry, he will send you the standard response, "I am in a meeting"....and you won't hear anything further from him even after "the meeting" ends. Now, very seriously, don't take any offense to it, but rather view it as Igor has put his foot down and won't let any of the staff F this up as Baltia enters the home stretch.
There will be absolutely no "insider" information leaked out in anyway form any of the Baltia staff..................
I still hold that May is going to be quite an exciting month.................
