No it's still wrong for them to do this if it's the same divvy. Some people may have bought in at .0008 expecting a loss in pps just so they could get the gift distribution. People strategized based on what they were promised. But if they sold out when it hit lets say .0004, then they lost half their money and have not gotten their promised gift distribution.
I am a long here but I also took some significant losses because I sold about 1/3 of my shares at half the value i bought them at. I bought those higher prices expecting the gift to offset it. But now I have incurred a loss on those shares in addition to the fact I didn't get the gift for those shares I owned. That is wrong.
I want to make it clear though, that if this is separate from the first one I am ok with it. Otherwise, if it's the same one with revised dates, you have to realize that people may have taken calculated losses by buying at higher prices because they expected the gift distribution would pay it off.
