WineWorks Meets Growing Demand With Manhattan Associates Supply Chain Commerce Solutions

SYDNEY, Australia and ATLANTA, April 2, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Supply Chain Commerce Solutions provider Manhattan Associates (Nasdaq: MANH ) has announced that WineWorks, a New Zealand company offering wine bottling services to the country's leading wineries, has implemented the latest version of the Manhattan SCALE ™ product suite in its warehouses in Marlborough and Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. The solution deployment has already helped WineWorks accommodate increased customer demand and enabled the company to build on brand loyalty by further improving the service experience for customers. The next phase of the project will see the Manhattan solution deployed at WineWorks' newest facility in Auckland – officially opened on January 6.

"As one of the country's most certified and trusted wine bottlers, it is imperative that WineWorks operates world-leading technology and facilities and employs industry experts to meet the specific and highly specialized needs of our customers," said Mike Brasch, Group systems manager at WineWorks. "With the help of Manhattan's team and specifically its SCALE solution, we have a supply chain platform capable of meeting our customers' increasingly demanding distribution needs and with the ability to support our growth for many years to come."

"As a specialist third-party logistics services provider (3PL) with more than 250 customers holding over 15,000 active product lines across the company's two warehouses, it is essential we offer our customers complete visibility and control of their inventory at all times," explained Brasch. "On average, our warehouses dispatch more than 18,000 cases daily. Manhattan SCALE provides a visual representation of order progressions, allowing customers to see exactly where an order is in the production process and allowing them to comply with New Zealand custom regulations on product traceability and production history. Because of these capabilities, New Zealand's wineries trust us to run the order fulfilment side of their businesses leaving them to concentrate on what they do best - growing and marketing great New Zealand wines."

Manhattan SCALE's Trading Partner Management module is the critical piece of functionality that allows customers to view real-time reports on the status of their inventory and orders within the warehouse and as goods make their way to and from the warehouse. It also gives customers the ability to place orders online and has significantly improved the time it takes to place and process orders.

With Manhattan SCALE, WineWorks has not only been able to continue growing and perpetually raise the bar on the service levels it provides to customers, it has also improved the profitability and performance of its business operations.

Commenting on the project success, Raghav Sibal, managing director, Australia and New Zealand at Manhattan Associates said, "WineWorks prides itself on delivering world-class services to its customers; a philosophy we share at Manhattan. We're delighted to see WineWorks' success with the solution and are confident it will continue to strengthen WineWorks' reputation for supply chain and service excellence."

Manhattan SCALE is a portfolio of distribution management and transportation management solutions, built on Microsoft .NET technology, and designed to be rapidly implemented and deployed to meet the needs of industries such as third-party logistics providers, food and beverage distributors and consumer packaged goods companies.
