For those of you from the midwest, this is also a step in the right direction, this bill was recently unanimously passed by the Illinois Houses' Restorative Justice Committee. The bill will reduce the penalties for possession under 1-2 ounces to $100 citation. It will now move to the Illinois House for vote. The decision to reclassify from Misdemeanor/Felony to citation was already made in Chicago, where Mayor Emanuel (you can say plenty of bad things about him as well) is financially savvy enough to understand the costs of jailing inner city individuals carrying a gram of marijuana on them. Why waste the state's money on the administrative and prison costs when these are clearly not serious offenders.

The beauty of this bill passing through the Illinois House Justice Committee is that the committee is made up of a diverse group of legislators, from a left-wing LBGT activist and low income rep Dems, to conservative former Police officers who represent the Republicans. 

The next step would be loosening up restrictions on those who qualify for medical marijuana prescriptions in the state. The medical marijuana is still in flux as of January 1st, and while these pieces of news might not be significant for FITX, they represent a shift in thought that I believe could be the driving force behind this company's success.
