After-hours buzz: General Motors, Humana, Medivation & more

General Motors – The automaker informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it would recall more than 1.3 million additional vehicles in the U.S. that may experience a sudden loss of electric power steering assist. Shares extended their drop in after-hours trading.
Humana – The health insurance company appointed Brian Kane as its CFO. Kane succeeds James Bloem.
Medivation – The biopharmaceutical company named Rick Bierly its new CFO, succeeding Patrick Machado, who recently retired from the post.
Verint – The analytic software provider posted earnings of 91 cents a share, ex-items, on revenue of $256 million, easily topping estimates for 84 cents a share on sales of $254 million. Shares rallied in extended-hours trading.
Durata Therapeutics – The FDA concluded that the company’s drug to treat acute bacterial skin infections shows substantial evidence of safety and efficacy.
