I believe the relationship between Kalitta and Baltia started with the purchase of N706BL: Kalitta sold us the plane.
As for C-check vs Pilot Training, I too agree the completion of the C-checks is monumental - but only relevant to those in "the know" (if any of us can actually be called "in the know").
To the general population who don't know too much about the inticacies of an airline, Press Releasing the completion of Pilot Training would be SO MUCH more meaningful and effective.
....and yes, troyal, I would so much prefer Baltia got the simulator training done SOONER rather than LATER.....and toss we shareholders a well-deserved bone after all this time. HQ's silence (LOL - seems no one returns calls to anyone these days - hopefully because they are in the "home stretch" and fearful of slipping and giving out "insider information") has always left us doubtful and fearful, and I too have haunting thoughts at night as to "what could be going wrong now."
LOL, guess we just have to wait it out. (have you looked at our MRIB distraction? Fairly interesting, and somewhat looks like a practice run for what we might expect when Baltia finally starts taking off). Rest assured, HQ isn't going to be letting any RELEVANT INFORMATION out any time soon. (what I mean by relevant is that we pretty much know all about the C-check but next to nothing about the pilot training....and my fear is that the next thing we hear from HQ will be about the C-checks).................
