heres an analogy: your selling concert tickets and have them advertised for $4. so im standing in line with the rest of the crowd and none of us are buying anything for more than $4. now im next in line and by the time its my turn to make a purchase another guy decides to hop next to you and say hes selling them for only $1. obviously im next in line so I get the cheap ones. he only sells them to me and then leaves. now everyone else is stuck with $4 tickets unless another ticket holder is sick of waiting for a buyer and decides to sell them for less than $4. thats the best I can do for you. stocks are like bargaining for goods. you can only sell as high as someone will buy and you call only buy as low as someone will sell. its a price or best offer sale.
