Re: 34thArmor #7693

34th, I'm going to give my opinion on a question you raised "over there", but I will post it here so it don't get deleted, and if someone wants to comment on it, so be it:

What is so toxic about this stock that made it a non stop target for shorting and no big entities investing here? What about the clearchannel shareholders.....why arent they buying? What is so bad about this company?

IMO, it is because the bashers accomplished what they set out to do, and we not only allowed them, but aided them, in creating the "toxicity".

Their goal was to create doubt, fear, and uncertainty, thus causing investors to become discouraged, and either sell, or not to buy anymore. As this scenario begins to unfold, they use the small, but increasing decline in the price to validate their point and to create an even more hostile investing environment.

At first, all the shareholders here were united in purpose and resolve, but over time, what happened? We arrive were we found ourselves last week, with bickering and name calling and accusations being leveled from one shareholder at and to another. Notice the absence of most of the bashers now? They have created the environment, and now they let the monster devour itself.

Mr. Samblis very courteously, entered this forum to try to keep the record straight, however, he quickly found that he was not only being attacked from the bashers at large, but also openly discredited and interrogated by those with whom he should have found favor. The fear and uncertainty and doubt that was so infectious, caused several to "turn" on the CEO, and in turn, gave him reason to question the motives and postings of several here.

IMO, you invest in a company based upon solid DD. Not on what someone else said or thinks. And, conversely, you maintain  your investment based upon that DD. The price is going to oscillate, high and low, by nature. Your DD holds you fast. When the price oscillates VERY high or VERY low, in my opinion, that is when you re-evaluate your DD. Has something dramatically changed? Does that change my investment strategy here? Then, you act accordingly.

For some random individual, or group of individuals, to just began random, obviously incorrect and ambiguous posts, with no factual data to support it, and we know the agenda behind their actions, it should be dismissed out of hand immediately and life goes on. When the CEO enters the arena to defend the lies and accusations against his company, we should not take that as an opportunity to air our dirty laundry in front of everyone. We support and acknowledge him. If we have questions, we go through the proper channels (email, IR, PMs) and we return the respect that the man is due.

So, IMO, the toxicity has come from none other, than ourselves. We have allowed and encouraged and fostered an atmosphere of toxicity and we find ourselves now telling Mr. CEO that he had better plate some humongous financials or we are all leaving. I'm sorry, but in my world, that is not allowed. We don't demand anything other than, tell me the truth and let me make my investment decisions accordingly.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm right. But I have stopped a majority of my posting mainly due to the fact that too many on these boards have agendas, and they will post anything and say anything to accomplish their ends. A CEO cannot do that. Legally, he can only say what is truthful and accurate. Otherwise, he will face prosecution. For Mr. Samblis to come here and post, it shows that he is committed to driving this company, and for keeping the record straight. If we allow the known bashers to have equal voice, we are grossly in error.

Best of luck.
