We drove up to Howardsville, Colorado on Saturday to see how things are proceeding. No one was around to converse with, so we just looked around and took a few pictures. It is a very late spring in the San Juan Mountains this year.
We saw evidence of a pond with a new liner in it. No dry stacking of new ore yet. The facilities looked maintained and orderly from the outside.
For those that don't know, this area is referred to as the Swiss Alps of America, and is also known as the jeeping capital of America. The scenery is incomparable. There are numerous ghost towns to explore, Animas Forks is about 8 miles past the CG mill.
The fly fishing is fantastic. Come on up and enjoy it before the Feds turn the whole area into a national park and ban most of the fun activities.
