Spanada was made by Ernst and Juilio Gallo and is a wine blended with fruit and therefore very sweet. Sweet wines do not last well. Caps are not as effective as cork in keeping air out to prevent vinegaring. Spanada is also no longer produced. Gallo wines were not reknowned for their quality.
