I will add my own observations of some new bashing methods I see occurring in our midst. From reading the material Peter has posted about "Bashing methodology" we know their prime target is the "Longs". The Investors Hangout IS WHERE the longs are which makes this forum the a prime target for the bashers. With that said I've noticed some new angles developing.
1. Sleeper cells: Infiltration of the group and laying low. Subtle soft bashing. Dividing and conquering to create division amongst the family. Using an old tactic of veiling an attack in truth to make one look foolish to argue against. For example: "If the Hangout is only going to be a place for cheerleading and any negative commenters are banned this place is worthless" Of course we all agree with that statement right? So now the bashers are using it to hit us over the head with it laced with "The Bash". We all feel the back-hand that slaps us when they do it, but now we're too scared to point it out for fear of being condemned as afraid to discuss the negative points. So we let it pass.
2. In an attempt to keep newbies away from the Hangout the bashers are beating the drumbeat of "People at the Hangout only wear rose colored glasses when talking about FITX" Now they are bashing the THE GROUP as a whole in order to stay relevant on the other forums.
Bottomline: They can't stand the firewall we've built by being in this group and we must remain diligent in recognizing them in our midst and squashing them.
If I were a moderator of the group (which I don't want to be, but VERY much appreciate Neuronal and WCB ) I would undoubtedly have a very quick trigger finger on the "Ban button" and then let the group tell me to reverse any bans they think were unjustified. I personally think "Better safe than sorry" should be the rule.
