Calipournication: Beijing restaurants to host Napa Valley charity wine dinners
Posted on | March 5, 2012 | No Comments
Five Beijing restaurants and 20 Napa Valley winery reps will team up on April 17 for a handful of charity wine dinners organized by Chi Fan for Charity . Each of the five dinners will be attended by four visiting reps from Napa, giving diners the chance to not only drink some good wines but also ask talk to the people behind them. Each seat is rmb800 , with rmb500 going to the charity Children’s Hope . Here is the lineup:
- Brasserie FLO : Cain Vineyard & Winery, Helena View Johnston Vineyards, Long Meadow Ranch Winery and Swanson Vineyards (RSVP with Romain at romain.b (at) flo.cn / 6595-5135, extension 17)
- Grange Grill (Westin Chaoyang): Cardinale, HALL, Honig Vineyard & Winery and Spring Mountain Vineyard (RSVP at 5922-8880 or fbreservation.chaoyang (at) westin.com).
- Maison Boulud : Cakebread Cellars, Hestan Vineyards, Moone-Tsai Vineyards and Waterstone (RSVP with Nicolas at Nicolas.socquet (at) maisonboulud.com or 18610-245-268).
- Temple Restaurant : Salvestrin, Schramsberg Vineyards, Somerston and St. Supery Estate Vineyards & Winery (RSVP with Ignace at ignace (at) temple-restaurant.com).
- Vasco’s (Hilton Wangfujing): Heitz Wine Cellars, Signorello Estate, Wallis Family Estate and Whitehall Lane (RSVP at 5812-8888, extension 8411 or wangfujing (at) hilton.com).
Some nice labels there. Not to play favorites but I’ve enjoyed the wines of Cakebread , St. Supery and Helena View, while Schramsberg has some major historical cred in China.
Anyway, each dinner starts at 6:30 PM , with seats available on a first come, first reserved basis . You can reserve seats via the contacts listed above or on the Chi Fan for Charity site.
