Nokia (NYSE:NOK) Hits Mapping Deal With Oracle – NOK, ORCL, CSC, CRM, CRUS, CTSH, JNPR
NOKIA (NYSE:NOK) reported that it would make its maps and location services accessible to users of Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ:ORCL), with an integrated link made by the US software developer.
Nokia Corp. said that the service, focused at corporate clients, would give maps of almost 200 countries, joining together its location platform with Oracle Apps, maps and business data. It provided no financial information about the deal.
The Finnish mobile giant on Monday announced that the service would help businesses save time, money and resources while letting them to get a geographic viewpoint for their companies.
Faced by stiff competition from Apple Inc., Samsung and phones using Google’s Android software, Nokia has placed importance on providing more location-centered services for its users.
Shares of Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) climbed 18 cents or 7.18% to close at $2.76. NOK’s sales was 43.56 billion, with net income of -4473.28 billion.
Nokia’s stock rose during the trade to its maximum level of $2.79 and during the session traded at the lowest level of $2.59 after an opening price of $2.59.
The firm has earnings per share of -$1.21while it has 3.74 million shares outstanding with institutional ownership of 10.79%.
Meanwhile, Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) increased 1.46%, salesforce.com, inc. (NYSE:CRM) dipped 1.02%, Cirrus Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRUS) moved down 2.06%, Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp (NASDAQ:CTSH) surged +1.95%, Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE:JNPR) declined 1.99%, Tellabs, Inc. (NASDAQ:TLAB) slipped-1.13%, Trina Solar Limited (NYSE:TSL) decreased 1.53% and Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) plunged 2.68%.
