Global Mobile M2M Module Market 2014-2018: The ASP is Expected to Decline From US$29.3 in 2013 to US$18.9 In 2018
M2 - Mon Mar 10, 10:18AM CDT
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/qgsjdw/global_mobile_m2m) has announced the addition of the "Global Mobile M2M Module Market 2014-2018" report to their offering. The analysts forecast the Global Mobile M2M Module market to grow at a CAGR of 16.21 percent over the period 2013-2018. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the increasing adoption of mobile devices. The Global Mobile M2M Module market has also been witnessing the decreasing average selling price of mobile M2M modules. However, the dependency on the deployment of wireless network infrastructure could pose a challenge to the growth of this market. Key vendors dominating this space are Gemalto N.V., Sierra Wireless Inc., SIMCom Wireless Solutions Co. Ltd., and Telit Wireless Solutions. Other vendors mentioned in the report are Aeris Communications Inc., Ambient Corp., AT&T Inc., Bright Sky Holdings LLC, Cellco Partnership Inc., EDMI Ltd., Encore Networks Inc., GeaCom Inc., Huawei Technologies Inc., M2M Data Corp., Mesh Systems LLC., Motorola Solutions Inc., Multi-Tech Systems Inc., Novatel Wireless Inc., nPhase, Numerex Corp., Orbcomm Inc., QUAKE Global Inc., Rogers Wireless Inc., SK Telecom Co. Ltd., SoftBank Corp., Sprint Corp., and Telstra Corp. Ltd. Commenting on the report, an analyst from the team said: One of the major trends that the market is witnessing is the sharp decline in the ASP of mobile M2M modules. Despite the consistent growth in the total unit shipments from 2010, there was a steep dip in the ASP. The steep decline in the ASP in 2013 indicates the intense competition in the market leading to industry consolidation. While module makers face challenges from both competing vendors and the inclination toward commoditization, the decline in the ASP is increasing the addressable market for mobile M2M connectivity. According to the report, one of the main drivers in this market is the increased adoption of mobile devices. M2 - Fri Mar 07, 8:48AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/c42wsh/real_time) has announced the addition of the "Global Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS) Market to 2020: RFID, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, UWB, GPS, IR, NFER, ZigBee and Emerging Technologies" report to their offering. The RTLS market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 20.7% for the analysis period of 2012 to 2020. The global real time locating system (RTLS) market provides tracking technologies for assets and human resource of the organizations to increase their operational efficiency. The key driving factor for the growth of the market is the provision for precise asset tracking. For example, healthcare facilities have to invest more money for lost devices in the absence of tracking technologies. When an efficient RTLS is implemented, the devices can be easily tracked, amounting to savings of at least 25 to 30 percent. However, people are not very keen to adopt the system as they perceive it to be an invasion on their privacy. It has been noticed that healthcare staff use personal beepers instead of the tags that their organizations want them to use. Governments across the globe understand these concerns of people and are making regulations to protect privacy of people. For example, the U.S. Congress introduced the Geolocation Privacy and Surveillance Act (GPS Act) in March 2013 to establish guidelines for tracking people at workplace. It is expected that various governments across the globe will implement similar acts to overcome the challenge of privacy concerns.
