It's not about the particulars. There's bipartisan support for MMJ. It's about the issue behind the issue; the much larger issue of a constitutional crisis brought upon by executive caprice. It's Nixon times one-hundred. Read Professor Turley's recent op-ed pieces.

Turley is a famous liberal who is horrified by the precedent of the executive branch going rogue, ignoring constitutional checks and balances by enforcing laws selectively, changing other laws by fiat in a legislative fashion without Congressional involvement, and ruling by executive orders again without Congress. If this isn't brought to heel, future presidents will have no restraints. These are perilous times for liberty and the rule of law guided by common law, the Constitution and our Bill of Rights. Most Americans don't want dictatorship and rule by executive decree to predominate in the USA of the future.
