Bankrate, Inc. (NYSE: RATE) today reported financial results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year ended December 31, 2013. Total revenue for the fourth quarter was $122.3 million compared to $93.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2012, an increase of 31%. GAAP net loss for the quarter was $3.5 million or a loss of $0.04 per fully diluted share, compared to net income of $0.3 million, or $0.00 per fully diluted share in the fourth quarter of 2012.

C&J Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE: CJES) today reported net income of $7.3 million, or $0.13 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2013, compared to net income of $13.1 million, or $0.24 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2013 and $30.4 million, or $0.56 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2012. Net income for the fourth quarter of 2013 was impacted by an abnormally high tax rate for the quarter due to the timing and deductibility of certain expenses, as well as other year-end true-ups. Total revenue for the fourth quarter of 2013 was $265.4 million, a 1% increase compared to $261.9 million for the third quarter of 2013 and a 7% decrease compared to $286.3 million for the fourth quarter of 2012. Adjusted EBITDA(1) for the fourth quarter of 2013 was $36.5 million, compared to $42.9 million for the third quarter of 2013 and $70.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2012.
