CeBIT 2014: Software AG supercharges Big Data and Streaming Analytics performance with new Intel Xeon E7 v2 processors
Business Wire - Fri Mar 07, 7:53AM CST
Software AG today announced the results of joint testing of its Terracotta BigMemory platform on Intel's new Xeon E7 v2 processor. The Intel Xeon E7 v2 processor in 8 socket configurations can address up to 12 terabytes (TB) of memory. When combined with BigMemory, enterprises can accelerate critical business applications with real-time in-memory access to ever-increasing volumes of fast Big Data. For large installations, BigMemory can cluster RAM across many Intel processor based servers but, thanks to the increase in RAM in a single Xeon E7 v2 server, Software AG and Intel can now significantly reduced the total cost of ownership of large in-memory data clusters. For example, tests that showcased 6TB of RAM on a single 4 socket server, demonstrated that as the volume of data increased, latency remained at sub-milliseconds levels. Given BigMemory's ability to scale-out as well as scale up, Intel and Software AG can reduce the number of servers required for a cluster in the 100 Terabyte by more than 75 percent.
Global Business Process Management (BPM) PaaS Market 2014-2018 with IBM Corp., OpenText Corp., and Pegasystems Inc. Dominating
M2 - Fri Mar 07, 5:14AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/r2dnhp/global_business) has announced the addition of the "Global Business Process Management (BPM) PaaS Market 2014-2018" report to their offering. The analysts forecast the Global BPM PaaS market to grow at a CAGR of 21.99 percent over the period 2013-2018. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the need to reduce the cost of business processes. The Global BPM PaaS market has also been witnessing increased demand for mobile BPM PaaS solutions. However, lack of awareness about the potential of BPM PaaS software could pose a challenge to the growth of this market. Key vendors dominating this market space include Appian Corp., IBM Corp., OpenText Corp., and Pegasystems Inc. Other vendors mentioned in the report are Adeptia Inc., Adobe Systems Inc., Barium AB, BizFlow Corp., BP Logix Inc., Colosa Inc., Eccentex Inc., Edorasware AG, Fujitsu Ltd., Interneer Inc., Integrify, Knowesia, Kofax Inc., Metasonic AG, MicroPact Inc., OpenWork, Oracle Corp., Perceptive Software, PNMsoft, Progress Software Corp., Questetra Inc., Rage Frameworks, Red Hat Inc., Roubroo, RunMyProcess, Software AG, Tibco Software Inc., Whitestein Technologies, and XMPro Inc. Commenting on the report, an analyst from the team said: The increasing penetration and adoption of mobile devices is a major trend emerging in the Global BPM PaaS market. Currently, mobile devices, smartphones, and tablets are being used extensively by consumers to check all the products and services offered by the company. In addition, organizations are providing work from home options to reduce costs and enhance employee morale. This has resulted in an increasing number of employees working from a remote location. Therefore, the growing usage of mobile devices will offer new opportunities in the market. Due to the increased adoption of mobile devices, a number of vendors are launching mobile applications that enable users to avail themselves of high-quality services on the move. Therefore, the increasing demand for mobile solutions is a trend that is expected to have a significant impact on the growth of the market during the forecast period. According to the report, one of the major drivers in this market is the need to reduce the cost of business processes. In traditional on-site projects, organizations waste a lot of time creating connections to all existing systems in the IT infrastructure to achieve an integrated flow of information. Since BPM PaaS vendors enable faster connection of IT systems, the organizations' in-house IT departments are not faced with the burden of implementing these applications and incurring related costs. Global Complex Event Processing (CEP) Market to 2018: IBM, Software, SAP, Oracle & Tibco Software Dominate
M2 - Mon Mar 03, 10:25AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/tc3bwd/global_complex) has announced the addition of the "Global Complex Event Processing (CEP) Market to 2018: IBM, Software, SAP, Oracle & Tibco Software Dominate" report to their offering. The emergence of SaaS-based CEP software solutions has enabled organizations to increase their efficiency and reduce the cost of deploying valuable IT infrastructure. However, many organizations are still analyzing the feasibility and relevance of such cloud computing solutions in their IT operations. The SaaS-based model for CEP offers a pay-per-use model, along with a one-time set-up fee for the software, maintenance, upgrading, and lifetime support. Hence, the Global CEP market is witnessing a trend where many vendors in the market have begun to offer their solutions through the SaaS-based model to expand their services and enter new markets. In addition, CEP software solutions are becoming increasingly popular, as they enable organizations to track, analyze, and process business data as events happen in order to make decisions on all the events in microseconds. This is leading to increased adoption of SaaS-based CEP software. Since the financial downturn in 2009, the importance of risk management to traders and investors has increased. Therefore, investors and traders are increasingly demanding fast access to trading market data. This is in order to minimize risk and survive in a rapidly changing market environment, and to make 'on-the-spot' decisions about buying or selling the financial instruments. Further, the report states that one such challenge is the high cost of implementation. As deployment of CEP software is an expensive process, its applications need a detailed and usually expensive process of defining requirements. Hence, implementing a complete traditional CEP solution is a time-consuming process. This increases the criticality of the process as it becomes very costly to make any changes once the deployment has started. The key vendors dominating this market space are: - IBM Corp - Software AG - SAP AG - Oracle Corp. - Tibco Software Inc. Key Topics Covered: 01. Executive Summary 02. List of Abbreviations 03. M2 - Fri Feb 28, 5:57AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/dv53cv/global_workforce) has announced the addition of the "Global Workforce Management System (WFM) Market 2014-2018" report to their offering. The analysts forecast the Global WFM market to grow at a CAGR of 11.25 percent over the period 2013-2018. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the increasing need to improve productivity of an organization. The Global WFM market has also been witnessing the emergence of mobile WFM solutions. However, choosing the right vendor could pose a challenge to the growth of this market. Key vendors dominating this space include Automatic Data Processing Inc., Kronos Inc., Oracle Corp., and SAP AG. Other vendors mentioned in the report are Amano Group, Atoss Software AG, Empower Software, Huntington Business Systems Inc., Infor Global Solutions, NICE Actimize, RedPrairie, Reflexis Systems Inc., Tomax Corp., Uptivity Inc., WorkPlace Systems Inc., and WorkForce Software. Commenting on the report, an analyst from the team said: The emergence of mobile-based WFM solutions has revolutionized the WFM concept by giving users the ability to work from remote locations. In order to remain competitive most organizations are shifting their focus from traditional methods to modern solutions such as mobile WFM which allow them to access remote information via smartphones and tablets. The solution is best suited for asset-intensive industries with field operations teams where they require connection outside their office premises. The trend of BYOD is allowing staff on-mobile options and to do work from home. Mobile WFM provides immediate access to work activity and facilitates performance management. In addition, mobile WFM solutions can also be used to edit time sheets, approve schedule changes and process time-off requests remotely. Kronos offers mobile applications such as Workforce Mobile Manager and Workforce Mobile Employee in Android, iPhone, iPad, Nokia and Blackberry app store. Similarly, Workforce Software offers the EmpCenter Mobile application. According to the report, a major driver in the market is the increasing need for organizations to improve productivity. The deployment of WFM software allows organizations to schedule various activities of the workforce in a timely manner and also helps in highlighting inconsistencies or inefficiencies in operations.
