In the United States the automobile is central to most consumers' lives, with a large group spending more than half an hour each day in their car. These car-centric consumers, who are also reliant on their smartphones and tablets, provide an opportunity for automobile OEMs and mobile operators to provide services directly through the users' vehicles. Auto manufacturers also see the opportunity to use wireless communications to provide safety features, such as emergency services, and remote diagnosis and management of their vehicles.

Global Mobile Data Center Market 2014-2018: Increasing Demand by Military and Government Organizations a Growing Trend
M2 - Wed Mar 05, 10:49AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/9kflp2/global_mobile) has announced the addition of the "Global Mobile Data Center Market 2014-2018" report to their offering. The analysts forecast the Global Mobile Data Center market to grow at a CAGR of 39.45 percent over the period 2013-2018. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the rapid provisioning of enterprise computing infrastructure. The Global Mobile Data Center market has also been witnessing the increasing adoption from the government and military. However, the limited scalability of mobile data center solutions could pose a challenge to the growth of this market. Key vendors dominating this space include AST Modular, Dell Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co., Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., and Silicon Graphics International Corp. Other vendors mentioned in the report are Bull Ltd., Cirrascale Corp., Cisco Systems Inc., Emerson Network Power Inc., Oracle Corp., Schneider Electric SA, and Silicon Graphics International Corp. Commenting on the report, an analyst from the team said: Mobile data center facilities are becoming more and more popular with the military and government organizations as they can be established in remote locations. The military and/or government agencies often function from locations where there are no communication facilities. Mobile data centers may become the only available computation, storage and communication source in such scenarios. Furthermore, military organizations require computing and storage facilities on the frontline which can be achieved using mobile data center facilities. Government organizations are also facilitating computing and storage facilities in remote locations where there are no data center facilities available. Thus the increasing demand for mobile data center facilities by military and government organizations is a growing trend witnessed by the market. According to the report, one of the major drivers in the Global Mobile Data Center market is the ability of the solution to rapidly address the requirements of the enterprise's computing infrastructure because of the mobility option it offers. Enterprises nowadays are looking at business solutions which can meet their computing needs and also reduce the capital and operational costs associated with data center infrastructure. Mobile data centers can easily be moved from one location to another and can be easily incorporated as a part of an enterprise infrastructure. Furthermore, mobile data centers are self-sufficient in terms of powering and cooling which reduces the maintenance costs of the data center facility. iGR Market Studies Provide Forecasts for Rising Mobile Data Traffic
Marketwire - Wed Mar 05, 5:00AM CST
Due to both the increasing number of mobile subscribers in the world and the subscribers' desire to stay constantly connected through their mobile device, the amount of data flowing over the world's mobile network is increasing exponentially. Smartphones are not the only type of mobile device putting demands on the network, as the use of tablets and connected cars is increasing. Furthermore, because of the faster data speeds offered by LTE, as the number of LTE subscribers increases, so does the use of mobile data. One of the ways that carriers are meeting this growing mobile data demand is through the use of small cells and the het-net.

Tariff Trends SnapShot - French Mobile Pricing Trends: In December 2013 Free Mobile Launched a 4G Service with a 20GB Mobile Data Allowance
M2 - Tue Mar 04, 9:31AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/kqz59f/tariff_trends) has announced the addition of the "Tariff Trends SnapShot 26 - French Mobile Pricing Trends" report to their offering. The Tariff Trend SnapShot No. 26 'French Mobile Trends' - provides an update on the changes in pricing & the impact on subscriber numbers, ARPU and revenues since the launch of the 4th French MNO Free Mobile in January 2012. The SnapShot shows how Free Mobile has grown from a standing start to take 11 per cent of the French Mobile market by subscribers in less than 2 years with over 7.4 million users reported as of Q3-13. Free provides two simple low cost offers - a Euro 19.99 per month plan (including 3GB mobile data & unlimited calls & SMS) and a Euro 2 per month plan (including 50MB mobile data & 2 hours of calls a day & unlimited SMS). Although all established French MNOs have lost market share the number of subscribers has increased by 9 per cent with all 3 MNOs increasing their customer base. The MNOs have retaliated to the launch of Free Mobile by introducing their own low cost sub-brands - such as Orange's sosh sub-brand - and have both increased bundles and lowering their pricing. Initially only Bouygues Telecom matched the Euro 19.99 per month tariff of Free Mobile but by 2013 all three MNOs had matched the Free price offer. Since 2012 the average package pricing from the 3 competing French MNOs had declined by 36 per cent but now has increased bundles of Mobile Data, SMS and call packages - with pricing declining from almost Euro 22 per month to Euro 14 per month. As a result the French mobile market is now one of the most competitive in Europe. In December 2013 Free Mobile launched a 4G service with a 20GB Mobile Data allowance included with the two monthly plans at no extra cost and prompted Bouygues, SFR and sosh to follow the same price strategy. And French regulator ARCEP has reported a decline in French mobile revenues by 13 per cent over the year to the end of June 2013. Orange Group has seen its stock price fall by 24 per cent since the launch of Free Mobile. By contrast Free Mobile's parent company Iliad Group's stock price has risen by 64 per cent over the same period.
