I hear you buddy-lots of people hurting and tied up by this and other catch 22 situations -my hands are tied fighting national battles which should be over soon-  but you might want to avoid that crap bread-white bread is so devoid of nutrition, like rabbit meat ,that if you ate all the white bread and rabbit meat you wanted you would literally die from malnutrition-

commercially processed wheat bread is not much better-wheat in the fields is healthy but they destroy the nutrition in wheat also and artificially stuff it w gluten to artificially pump up/fluff the bread and scores of millions americans are thus sensitive to or allergic to gluten- so the gluten is actually destroying their digestive tracts and ability to absorb needed nutrients and causing diverticulitis etc-

so you would be better off eating some other filler that doesnt poison your body and depress your mind and mood- you can often eat the lichens that grow on trees etc but will require as many calories to process as you get from them- so berries ,indian potatoes, miners lettuce, tubers, cattail parts etc are some of the best bets in your area-and dont forget wild nuts-a lot of value

the cult leader starved me my entire childhood because i was the only one who wouldnt worship the puppetmaster w them, so i know what thats like-having to defend myself and my family against a gang (benchpressing 300 while weighing only 130 at age 17)  while being starved and daily attacked by cult goons, gang sympathizers and the rest of intractable humanity-always in groups -the chicken bullies never dared attack alone

some times i went into fast food restaurants and ate the food wasteful americans/europeans dont even touch after ordering and just left- emergency food banks, food stamps, plus many churches have free meals etc-at school lunches, when i was allowed to go, my wasteful friends would give me whatever they didnt like,so i'd eat e.g. 13 pickle sandwiches for lunch-some nutrition in pickles-get a food card online to work as a food service worker? or work at fast food places and eat the stuff customers dont want-i worked at a fast food place once as a teenager-whatever customers ordered and decided at last moment they  didnt want employees were allowed to eat-not allowed to sell to another customer- lots of free food

unfortunately there arent many wild food sources where you live in the winter-but you can get a deck of cards at book stores or REI  etc or online -picturing the most common wild food sources in your area and make it an adventure- survival skills- I did- some people enjoy that type of gathering- you've heard of blueberry picking parties - feeds grizzlies and black bears who, being omnivorous (black bears are only 2% carnivorous) ,mostly feed on insects and berries - so theres some food value in the woods from late spring through fall (and rosehips and birch etc bark etc in winter)  if you know what to look for. Crazy rich people make frogs legs and grasshoppers and snails a delicacy because they are so bored w their wasteful lives

in the meantime feast your eyes on Navials equipment
