Coming up: U.S. durable goods, jobless claims, GDP
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The U.S. government will release reports on durable-goods orders, weekly jobless claims and revised second-quarter growth at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch expect orders for durable goods to fall 5.3% in August, mainly because of lower aircraft bookings. Gross domestic product for the second quarter is expected to be unchanged at 1.7% in the third and final revision of the report. And weekly jobless claims are projected to fall to 375,000 from 382,000 in the prior month.
