Bud... I was touched by your sincerity and love the fact that you see the bigger picture here. With FITX, it really is about the medicine and what it can do to improve quality of life for millions of men, women and ESPECIALLY children.
I love that you know about the Edison BS, not too many people know what he did to Tesla and the poor animals he killed to mislead people. Kinda like a basher huh??? Say and do anything...
The newspaper guy you are referring to is probably W. R. Hearst... don't remember his involvement in the propaganda campaign against of MJ, but it was even more insidious than just a newspaper tycoon and politics. With the end of prohibition, there was a huge segment of the Fed law enforcement establishment, especially the FBI that was now in danger of losing funding for enforcement of the liquor laws and would have basically been out of jobs!
So, J. Edgar and the boys decide they had to create a new menace in order to keep enforcement funding for the feds... ala' REEFER MADNESS!!!!! If you've never seen that movie... find it online somewhere and watch it. You will be shocked... but sadly... It worked... New laws were quickly passed and suddenly MJ was the new scourge! The War On Drugs began with MJ and it was created and carried out by the Fed. and State govts., themselves in order to keep their organizations heavily funded and with a mission.
As well as all the people who have missed out on the medicinal benefits of MJ, I also pity all the people who have spent years and years in jail, for a safe drug that was made illegal in order to fund Fed. law enorcement and the prison industry!
Ironically, once again, it's the same Fed. and State govts. that will pushing for legalization in order to cash in, once again, this time on taxing the same drug.
