Hey Kelly,
Welcome to the board. I started out with a TDAmeritrade account also. Owned shares in another company with the same problem that was chilled about a year after I bought my shares. I could sell but, couldn't buy back. I opened another account with Fidelity. Heard others mention Scotttrade. Fidelity charges 7.99/trade.
IMO TDAmeritrade is probably one of the worst brokers if you want to trade penny stocks.
