Vantaa, Finland, 2014-03-05 09:00 CET (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cramo Plc Press release 5th March 2014 at 10.00 am (EET)
Cramo speeds up the growth of its modular space business with the Cramo Adapteo sub-brand
For Cramo, the second largest equipment rental company in Europe, modular space solutions are one of the most important growth areas. As a part of the growth strategy Cramo adopts a new brand name, Cramo Adapteo, for its modular space business.
Outside the traditional construction sector, the demand for Cramo's modular space solutions in the Nordic and Baltic countries has strongly increased during the past few years, especially in the public sector. In modular space, Cramo is the market leader in Northern Europe: its equipment already consists of 15,300 modular space units.
Modular space solutions are utilised, among other things, as temporary facilities for offices, schools and healthcare premises, when extra space is needed or during renovation work. They are also superb in situations where daycare space is quickly required due to sudden changes in demography or acute problems with an existing building, for example mould.
“In people's minds, Cramo is associated, above all, with the construction industry, but the customers of our modular space solutions are more and more in the public sector and in real estate. With the Cramo Adapteo sub-brand, we want to further increase the prominence of our company in real estate and in the public sector”, describes Mr Petri Moksén, Head of the Cramo Adapteo operations.
The new Adapteo name is derived from the Latin words AD (to, towards) and APTO (adjust, adapt, prepare). The message behind the name is that Cramo's modular space solutions adapt to the needs of their users.
“Popularity of modular space is explained by the fact that they adapt to the needs of the customer. One can start perhaps with some 30 square metres’ units, and the sky will be the limit when it comes to expansion. For the reasons of costs, according to various calculations, property owners are well advised to keep about 6–10 percent of the space modular.
“In Finland for example, only about two percent of all spaces are modular; therefore, we still have a large margin for growth”, Mr Moksén says.
Space solutions designed for Nordic conditions
The name Cramo Adapteo will be introduced in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. At the same time, the intention is to increase cooperation between the different countries.
“In the future, we intend to spread modules across countries even more than before, as our equipment is now more compatible among different countries. We will also do sales work together and carry out joint product development more than before”, tells Mr Moksén.
In addition to cooperation, Mr Moksén sees the strong local grip as the most important competitive advantage for Cramo Adapteo.
“We differ from many of our competitors due to the fact that our new space solutions have been designed in the Nordic countries and for Nordic conditions. They comply with all the building regulations and requirements concerning, among other things, ventilation, energy efficiency and building technique. During this year, we will also be presenting another new modular space solution, which will be the most energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly on the market”, Mr Moksén reveals.
In 2013, the share of the space rental outside the construction industry was already 12.3 percent of the Cramo Group's turnover. In addition to seeking growth in the Northern Europe this year, we will also seek foothold in Poland's and Germany's markets”, Mr Moksén envisages.
Cramo Adapteo employs over 100 people, of whom 36 work in Finland.
