Hey FITXERS. I've been getting private messages asking my opinion regarding the latest developments so I thought I would just share them out loud to the board. Again as stated this is only MY OPINION. Take it for what its worth....
My impression is that the GNC debacle yesterday was as much a surprise to Bill as to the rest of us. I think he made a phone call to somebody yesterday that began with "WTF IS HAPPENING!?!"
Shit happens in business, negotiations go awry. We' were red the previous 5 trading days and yesterday before the news started to trickle out. All in all the GNC thing just gave bashers some unneeded ammunition to shoot us with which definitely accelerated the sell off.
As to the sell off overall it's pure MM manipulation. This guys own a shitload of the stock and can do whatever they want to meet their needs. Plain and simple. In the short run they are doing us longs a favor to buy shares at these prices. In the long run they are doing us a favor by consolidating the stock. You can bet those buying the shares over the last 6 trading days are longs.
Finally, Bill's in it to win it. I don't believe there is any reason to doubt otherwise. The real problem is that Bill opened a can of worms by allowing such unprecedented access to the CEO. Pretty hard to close that box up again. Maybe after an eventual up list he can. In the meantime people feel they deserve an answer to their every question and when they don't get it they turn on Bill and say he's not being transparent. I can only imagine how hard it is for Bill to take the beating for being open and honest. It's like the old saying "No good deed goes unpunished".
