The IP Media division of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) plans to produce and launch IPTV services in the country by March 2014.
“Once IPTV is launched, over 126,000 families in Iran can use this feature,” said Mehdi Hal Alefkhani, Director of IP Media division in IRIB. “Within the next three years, close to 20 million families living in the country can subscribe to this feature.”
Iran’s IP Media system will allow viewers to archive their favourite programs, games and movies for up to one month. IPTV will also give the viewer access to high-speed internet channels.
