Question regarding patents. In particular the 30 something patents claimed by Dr. Sam Alawieh. Question was brought up on Facebook by a gent who has now been banned, or his posts deleted at a minimum. Out of curiosity I did search and found nothing under inventors last name Alawieh. Bill's answer was this " Dan.. Have you heard of asset protection? Why in the world would anyone file a patent under their own name. As an attorney I would utilize a trust. A corporation ... Think of the tax implications etc... If you used your own name. What happens upon death or bankruptcy ?"
Ok. That makes sense to have the assignee's name be a trust or business but why wouldn't Dr. Sam's name come up under inventor name? I know of multiple individuals who work in my industry who are all listed as the inventor but the patent is assigned to the company they work for.
