5. Detroit C&D Operation – The City of Detroit has over 90,000 vacant and derelict structures that need to be demolished or rehabilitated. Our plan is to construct a C&D recycling center for repurpose and recovery of C&D wastes, as well as future energy production. We continue to work on development of this project with a goal of operations by the end of 2014.

(WXYZ) - Part of the City of Detroit's plan of adjustment calls for investing more than one billion dollars over the next 10 years to improve the city.
A good chunk of the money would be allocated for improving life for Detroit residents, including $520 million for blight removal . The money would allow for the number of structures being demolished to jump from around 115 a week to around 400.
Residents of Garland street would like the city to start there.
"The whole block is messed up." said Damian Holliman. "There are dogs in these houses, the are falling down and they find dead bodies in them."
Along with addressing blight, the plan also calls for functioning streetlights, garbage removal and better police, fire and EMS service.
