Another Broken Egg Cafe Hatches in Raleigh with Events to Raise Money for Three Nonprofits

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Double R Restaurant Group is pleased to announce a Monday, March 3, 2014 opening of Raleigh's first Another Broken Egg Café (ABEC) in North Hills at 160 Park at North Hills Street. This new ABEC joins sister restaurants in North Carolina's Research Triangle, located in Durham at 2608 Erwin Road and in Morrisville at Park Village West. The public is invited to come dine at no charge to support three fundraising events as part of Raleigh's North Hills' grand opening festivities. Donations can be made via cash, check or credit card and will be accepted for the featured nonprofits, each with its own special date. Patrons must call (919) 344-3222 to make a reservation as seating will be limited.

Thursday, February 27 will benefit the ALS Association, webnc.alsa.org

The mission for ALS Association is to lead the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig's Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. To show support for this nonprofit, the ABEC dining fundraising event will offer seating from
9 AM to 12 PM.

Friday, February 28th will benefit the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina: www.foodbankcenc.org . Established in 1980, the Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties for 30 years. The Food Bank serves a network of more than 800 partner agencies such as soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and programs for children and adults through distribution centers in Durham, Greenville, New Bern, Raleigh, the Sandhills (Southern Pines) and Wilmington. In these counties, more than 560,000 struggle each day to provide enough food for their families. The ABEC fundraiser on Friday will offer seating from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Saturday, March 1 will benefit SPCA of Wake County: www.spcawake.org . Founded in Raleigh in 1967, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Wake County is dedicated to creating a more humane community where every adoptable animal has a home. Each year the SPCA rehomes over 3,000 animals through its innovative adoption programs and lost and found efforts. The guiding mission statement of the SPCA remains as relevant now as it was when it was written in 1967: To protect, shelter and promote the adoption of homeless animals; to provide education about responsible pet ownership and to reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs. The ABEC dining event on Saturday will have seating available from 9 AM to 1 PM.

"We are honored to support three remarkable, community-focused nonprofit organizations for our opening festivities of our new location in Raleigh," announces Chief Operating Officer Stuart Ottinger. "The service these nonprofits provide is invaluable to this area, and we want to do our part as a good neighbor to help."

Guests dining at Another Broken Egg Café will have plenty of tempting dishes to choose from as the entire menu is offered during breakfast, lunch and brunch service, featuring fresh and nutritious southern-inspired dishes. There are six varieties of eggs benedict, 11gourmet omelette choices, an exceptional signature Bananas Foster over Belgian waffles, French toast or sweet potato pancakes, southern crabstack, biscuit beignets, along with handcrafted burgers, specialty sandwiches and fresh salads. Each meal is carefully prepared to order with the highest quality and freshest ingredients available.

ABEC menu prices range on average from $8 to $15 and for breakfast cocktails, don't miss the mimosa, or the house specialty bloody mary priced at $5.99 each. Furthermore, ABEC's Healthy Side menu, which includes granola, fruit & quinoa, gluten free friendly jumbo pancakes, the skinny omelette, steel cut oats and simply salmon, is also available at this new location.

ABEC mug collectors will also look forward to the oak tree motif on the hand-thrown stoneware as Raleigh is known as the city of oaks. This motif is exclusive to the Raleigh ABEC. Each ABEC location has its own distinctive symbol on the American made design, which is produced in various colors year round.
