CLEARWATER, Fla., Feb. 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq: TECD ) today announced the appointments of Charles V. Dannewitz to senior vice president and chief financial officer, the Americas and Alain Amsellem to senior vice president and chief financial officer, Europe. Dannewitz will be responsible for finance, accounting and credit in the United States, Canada, and Latin America, and will continue to oversee the company's tax function. Amsellem will be responsible for the company's finance, accounting and credit operations in Europe. Both Dannewitz and Amsellem will continue to report to Jeffery P. Howells, the company's executive vice president and chief financial officer.
The company also announced the promotion of Scott Walker to vice president and treasurer. In this role, Walker will oversee the company's worldwide Treasury function and will report to Howells. David F. Childers, director, Corporate Treasury, has been promoted to the role of assistant treasurer and will continue to report to Walker.
Joseph B. Trepani will continue to serve as senior vice president and corporate controller, as well as the company's chief accounting officer, and report to Howells. In this role, Trepani is responsible for all accounting policy, controls and financial reporting. Together with Jeffrey L. Taylor, vice president and assistant corporate controller, he will focus on optimizing the processes, procedures, controls and financial reporting of the company's worldwide finance teams.

Dannewitz joined Tech Data in 1995, serving as senior vice president and treasurer since 2003. Prior to joining the company, he was employed by Pricewaterhouse for 13 years. Dannewitz is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Illinois Wesleyan University.
Amsellem joined Tech Data in 1994 through the company's acquisition of French distributor Softmart International, S.A., where he served as finance director. He progressed through various regional leadership positions and was appointed senior vice president, Finance and Operations for the company's European region in 2005. Amsellem is a Chartered Accountant and holds a degree in management and chartered accountancy from Dauphine University in Paris.
Walker has been with Tech Data since 2010, serving as vice president, assistant treasurer. Prior to joining the company, Walker was employed by Jabil Circuit for seven years, where he progressed to the positions of senior director, Corporate Finance and Treasury, and controller for the company's start-up Clean Tech division. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Vermont.
