UMeWorld Releases Major Update to UMFun In Preparation To Enter the Chinese School Market

UMeWorld, working closely with Chinese teaching professionals, releases a major update to UMFun, a cloud based online educational platform. The update provides UMFun with new functions and features specifically designed for teachers, school administrators and district administrators, as well as better integration with its US/China patent pending item bank.

UMeWorld Limited (UMEWF) today releases a major update to UMFun.com with improvements, new functions and a new look. There is deeper integration with its’+ patent pending item bank which offers the ability to create formative or interim/benchmark assessments to monitor and track student progress towards meeting provincial standards.

The UMFun cloud-based item bank is an online bank of over 170,000 standards-based Math, Chinese and English language arts test questions for Grade 5 -12 teachers to use in the classroom to help improve learning. The UMFun item bank enables schools to use questions that are aligned to provincial standards to create custom formative assessments (tests or quizzes given throughout the year); to target improvement efforts; adjust instruction throughout the year; and develop personalized learning strategies for students struggling with a particular standard. Districts can also use the UMFun item bank to create benchmark assessments.

This enhanced integration also allows ongoing classroom assessment. School administrators can compare student performance across classrooms or across other school districts. An individual student’s performance can be tracked over their entire academic career. Test results for student populations can also be compared over time. With test scores playing an increasing role in education, school districts can use formative or benchmark assessment results to predict performance on other tests.

Michael Lee, President and CEO commented, “I am extremely excited with the release of this major update. It paves the way for UMFun to address an unfulfilled educational market. Assessment has played a major role in shaping America’s educational system for decades, but such tools have not been available to date in China. Chinese education professionals are aware of the importance of establishing an effective assessment system. Working together with them, UMFun is poised to play a major role in reshaping the Chinese educational system.”

The K-12 education system in China is the largest in the world, comprising 230 million students. UMeWorld is on track to becoming a leading educational service provider in China. UMeWorld is also committed to becoming China's largest provider and repository of e-portfolios for students.
