solaking, there is a world of information, including pictures, of these trees cut and floated down rivers from our ancestors. Quite amazing and interesting. Millions of trees just laying on the bottom of theses rivers/ lakes. Kgem has done a lot of research on this and should be able to show you. Some people have even started little one-man operations salvaging these valuable logs and are doing quite well. It is an amazing story. This is just the tip of the iiceberg of what is out there as far as submerged logs. That is only one small aspect of this completely untapped industry.  Maybe Kgem will post some history for you. You can even stat googling submerged river logs or something similar and find a whole history of what our forefathers did in the logging industry. Very interesting reading.
