Arizona Company Readies First Medical Marijuana Vender For Deployment
-The Patient Alternative Relief Center, an Arizona state licensed medical marijuana dispensary here, will be the first location to feature Tranzbyte Corp.'s Altitude Organix ZaZZZ vending machine. Tranzbyte said its marijuana vending machine can be programmed to adhere to jurisdictional differences from state to state, and among each state's local municipalities. The machine, which can only be operated by authorized patrons, will sell products from the ZaZZZ line, in combination with offerings chosen by the dispensary. Tranzbyte claims its Altitude Organix brand, launched in 2009, is the first publicly traded medical marijuana dispensary brand in the world. The Tempe, AZ, company converted its newly acquired Yo! debit card for use in its machines at participating dispensaries. "We see Tranzbyte's ZaZZZ machine as a way to speed up sales for people who already know what they want," said Jeff Schaeffer, executive director at PARC. "We expect it will allow our dispensary to rapidly expand its outreach footprint in the community when permitted to do so." Tranzbyte said it expects to install its inaugural machine within the next few weeks, and to roll it out to dispensaries in every state where laws allow.
