DGAP-News: KTG Energie AG / Key word(s): Dividend KTG Energie AG: After a strong business year, the company starts long-term dividend payout 05.02.2014 / 09:57 --------------------------------------------------------------------- KTG Energie AG: After a strong business year, the company starts long-term dividend payout - Proposed dividend: 40 cents per share - Dividend yield at over 3% - Sales volume and earnings in the short business year 2013 almost doubled - EBITDA expected to rise again by at least 25% in the current fiscal year - Continuously increasing dividend planned Hamburg, February 5, 2014 - KTG Energie AG (ISIN: DE000A0HNG53) will be proposing a dividend of 40 Eurocents per share for the short business year 2013 (January through October) at the Annual General Meeting. This has been decided by the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board. The company, founded in 2006 and listed on the stock exchange since 2012, is thus planning its first dividend in the company's history. Based on the closing price on February 4, 2014 (EUR12.36) the dividend yield is at 3.2%. At the same time, the company is announcing its intentions to include shareholders to a substantial extent in increasing earnings in future. KTG Energie is reckoning with a growth in EBITDA of 25-30% for fiscal year 2013/2014. Sales more than doubled - result rises by 97% As reported on January 22, 2014, KTG Energie's sales volume more than doubled in the short fiscal year 2013, compared with the first ten months of the previous year, to over EUR50 million (January through October 2012: around EUR23 million), while the operative result (EBITDA) improved by 97% to EUR13.2 million (January through October 2012: EUR6.7 million). The increase in earnings was effected by the business with biogas fed directly into the grid, which rose by 224% to EUR15 million as well as the electricity sales, which increased by 45% to EUR27 million. Sales volume from high-margin system operations thus rose from EUR31 million to EUR42 million, while trade revenue (silage) contributed around EUR8 million to the increase in sales volume. The single entity KTG Energie AG achieved profits of over EUR3 million, of which it issued just under 80% as dividends to shareholders. Sharp increase in production capacity Since October 2012, KTG Energie has expanded production capacity from 32 MW to more than 41 MW by October 2013. CEO Dr. Thomas Berger: '2013 was an outstanding year for us, during which we proved that we can combine growth with increasing earning power. The sales volume and yield platform that we have achieved and which will be ensured over the entire remaining period of the feed-in tariff have substantially increased and enabled us to turn KTG Energie shares into attractive dividend-bearing stock'. Substantial increase in annual result in comparison with entire fiscal year 2012 Compared with the entire fiscal year 2012 (12 months), sales volume increased in the first ten months of the short fiscal year 2013 from EUR31.6 million to EUR50 million, EBITDA from EUR9 million to EUR13.2 million and EBIT from EUR6 to EUR8 million. The annual result improved from -EUR1.8 million to EUR1.3 million in the ten month period in 2013, while the net result for the year was EUR918K, (2012: -EUR0.4 million). At the balance sheet date of 10/31/2013, KTG Energie's equity was EUR19.9 million (12/31/2012: EUR18.6 million) and liquid assets were EUR8.4 million (12/31/2012: EUR20.8 million). The debt service cover ratio (DSCR) was around 1.40. The cash flow available for the debt service thus covered the debt service (interest and repayment) 1.4 times. 'The feed-in tariff, guaranteed for up to twenty years and the commitment to purchase render our business model extremely safe, so that we can operate with a low equity ratio and can consistently achieve high profits on the capital invested', says CEO Dr. Thomas Berger. Forecast: Increasing sales volume and earnings platform enable increases in dividend Compared with the short fiscal year 2013, the high-margin sales volume from existing system operations in fiscal year 2013/2014 is expected to increase to between EUR62 and EUR65 million (Jan-Oct. 2013: EUR42 million). The Executive Board expects the EBITDA margin to be at least 28%, so that EBITDA from existing systems is expected to be between EUR16 and EUR17 million. With a target EBIT margin of at least 15%, the existing system park is expected to generate an EBIT in the range of between EUR9.1 and EUR9.5 million. Compared with the short fiscal year 2013, EBITDA would thus increase by 25-27%, and increase EBIT by 23-25%. In addition, production capacity is expected to increase to around 50 MW, compared with 41 MW on October 31, 2013, due to the expansion of existing systems. CEO Dr. Thomas Berger: 'It is of crucial importance to us that we make a contribution to the successful energy turnaround to CO2-neutral energy production'. Expansion of existing systems already facilitates sales volume of up to EUR75 million For fiscal year 2014/2015, the organic expansion of existing systems to the planned production capacity of 50 MW alone will enable a high-margin sales volume of up to EUR75 million - and will be permanently ensured according to Economics Minister Sigmar Gabriel's White Paper. CEO Dr. Thomas Berger: 'We will achieve our expansion target for 2015 considerably earlier and in sufficient time before the amendment to the Renewable Energy Act (EEG), which is expected to come into force on August 1, 2014. Despite all the justified criticism of the reductions for new construction, which might make little sense, the guarantee for the remaining period of the feed-in tariffs and feed-in priority which is assured for 20 years and provided for in the EEG amendment ensures a high level of security for existing systems. Our increasing sales volume and earnings platform enable us to offer our shareholders continuously increasing, attractive dividend payouts. In addition, we are developing further potential for growth over the mid-term with our mobile heat transmission and have the opportunity to continue growth through expansion and acquisition.' The KTG Energie Group's financial report for the short fiscal year 2013 will be published in March 2014.
