ARIA, SRPT, VELT, VVUS Among Charts to Watch

We planned to talk about stocks on the short side here, but there are so many stocks on the long side that are doing well that we want to go over some of those with you.
Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ARIA) has been acting well all year long. It’s been a stellar stock ever since we put it on our list in December of last year at the 11-12 range, and it has more than doubled since then. It was up another 35 cents to 23.85 on Tuesday, on 2.3 million shares. This stock is making new all-time highs every day, and may very well get to the mid 20’s short-term.
Sarepta Therapeutics, Inc. (SRPT) had a flag or consolidation pattern, it bounced, and then moved up slowly. On Tuesday, it tested lateral price resistance at the prior high around 16.25. It backed off and closed up 1.01 to 15.86, or 6.8%, on 3.4 million shares. Look for this stock to make it to 20 on a swing trade.
Velti Plc (VELT) has been acting great of late. Its pattern shows it to have spiked up to the declining topsline, formed a wedge, broke through that line, went up to lateral price resistance, then the next line of resistance, it backed off on Monday, and on Tuesday, it popped 1.10 to 9.70, or 12.8%, on 4.2 million shares. Look for a test of 10 3/4 short-term, and then up around 13 intermediate-term.
VIVUS Inc. (VVUS) had a big thrust to the downside, followed a coil, and then popped 1.51 to 24.44, or 6.6%, on 5.6 million shares. That’s the best volume in a few months. If it can get up to the 25.65 zone, then it very well may get up into the high 20’s, and then the 30 plus area.
