Cats - There are many ways to structure an agreement involving the sale and distribution of U.S.-made products to a foreign market to avoid or minimize the 35% repatriation of cash from that foreign market back to the U.S. Whether it is China, Argentina or Germany, the strategies are numerous. Some are very complicated, while others are quite simple if done correctly on the front end of a deal. Eventually, it may be a good strategy to establish an entity in a tax-friendly jurisdiction if Scrips intends to expand its Asia business. It can use a portion of its revenues from Hong Kong and Mainland China to fund expansion there without the 35% tax hit. The same holds true when the company expands operations to South America and other continents. I have represented large multi-nationals who structure these types of deals all of the time.
The large pharmaceuticals are very good at structuring their foreign revenues to address this important issue. Time will tell which method Team Scrips will employ. But at this point in time with regard to China, I am most interested in news of the first orders and the big revenues that will ensue. It is unfortunate that we slipped past the normal 60- to 90-day approval period. But considering the company has not issued a statement about problems related to its RapiMed product registration, I am confident we are not too far away from a PR announcing product approval, which will be immediately followed by RapiMed orders. And when that news hits, we longs will all be smiling and the shorts will be heading for cover!
As to the continued debate on the 1M shares that Bob gifted to his close relative, I am confident that although those shares are technically in the float, they will be held tightly for a very, very long time.
The core has doubled in share size this year, with Team BSAV's total likely above 10M shares. I assume Teams Tut-Guts, Kansai, Cwell, and Celts take us close to 30M shares. The pps has climbed to $.20 on no news and will likely continue climbing next week. It is time for Team Scrips to give the stock the catalysts we have all been so patiently waiting for to cause the pps to breakout. This month we will receive substantively-positive news on several revenue streams. The rocket is on the launch pad...space suits are ready...T-minus [insert your best U.P.O.D. guess here] and counting...
Enjoy the game...go Steelers!
