JBI did not issue a "strong retraction".
This is what JBI said.... Notice the word "may" is used .
To help you out here is the definition of the word "may" as used in the PR.
—used to indicate possibility or probability
Furthermore, the conclusions drawn by SAIC were based upon a number of assumptions made at the time of the report that may be outdated or incorrect or that may prove to be incorrect in the future. Management’s current assumptions may differ and additional events, risks and uncertainties may cause JBI’s actual results and performance to differ from SAIC conclusions or projections.
So things may have changed since the report was issued and they may not have. The PR indicates that there is that possibility.
Under any conditions, without reading the white paper, drawing conclusions from the summary would not be wise decision since you don't have all of the relevant information.
Very much like reading the summary of a quarterly report on Yahoo vs reading the Q itself.
