KACN Television Reaches More Than Half the Homes in Alaska:
We broadcast our signal through three channels + on the Web:
High Power Digital Broadcast as Channel 33.3 – Reaching all of the Anchorage Bowl, through the Matanuska-Susitna Borough (Eagle River, Palmer, Wasilla), all the way to Big Lake. Anyone in these areas with a Digital Television can watch KACN Television.
2010 Census figures show:
Anchorage: 291,826 people in 107,322 Households (Girdwood, Anchorage, Eagle River).
Mat-Su Borough: 88,995 people in 31,824 Households (Palmer, Wasilla, Big Lake).
GCI Cable Channel 95 – Now reaching from Girdwood, through all of Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer, and Wasilla, KACN Television comes standard with GCI cable television.
GCI reports just over 93,000 households subscribed in Anchorage, Girdwood, and the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.
With the census showing an average of 2.74 people in each Anchorage/Mat-Su household, that translates to 254,527 viewers.
Satellite Television through Dish Network Channel 38 in Anchorage & Mat-Su.
Statewide, wherever we don’t appear as Channel 38, we can also be found as Dish Network Master Channel 7039.
Dish Network shares no information with as to what communities we reach in Alaska, but our viewers report watching KACN regularly on Dish Network in:
Barrow – Population 4,212
Bethel – Population 17,013
Dillingham – Population 4,837
