Figure they don't exist anymore; they are already spent, gone. You can't spend what you don't have.
When the time comes put the windfall, pricipal in premium grade, dividend producing stocks. Cramer has a calender of ex date divies. You can trade around the ex divy dates or just let er ride. As such, you can live off the interest only. Never touch the principal. Never.
As far as a job goes, get anything. I mean anything. You have much better negotiation capabality. You don't need their job, I already have one. You can pick and choose. If it's a better job, take it, but do give notice to your previous employer. Ad infinitum (and so forth, forever).
