When any company stock trades 156.6mil shares in one day and holds a gain of 49%, its name becomes somewhat immaterial. In this case, it means that the people who know the MMJ sector also know SK is a sector player. The attention a company receives from the market for this percentage gain on enormous volume provides name recognition on those merits alone.
Where the name change could have made a substantial difference was last year in attracting numerous curious investors who were just learning about a new exciting industry. These eyes did not see SK3 Group or SKTO on virtually any MMJ stock list. Even if these eyes did see SK3 or SKTO somewhere, neither name nor ticker would stir any association.
In other words -- with a meaningful name change and, hence, many more eyes --,we shareholders of a limited exposure stock could have been spared some of the considerable agony of watching SKTO acting like the rock of Sisyphus whose punishment by the Greek gods was to eternally repeat the act of rolling a rock up a hill only to see it roll down again just before reaching the summit.
