Good Morning, Trader!
Baltia Air Lines Inc. (BLTA) bills itself as “America’s Newest Airline” on its website , which is remarkably slick for a company now trading at $0.01.
I guess you need muscle to join the jet set — BLTA has already spent $2 MILLION on planes and security deposits, so what’s a good website more?
Heck, BLTA just paid to send its first pilot crews on a 7-week training course to make sure they’re ready to hit the sky ASAP! (Read more )
That course is why I’m bringing BLTA to your attention now. As you can see from the chart , this stock could benefit from a little firm news:
Sending the pilots to school was the last big update the market got from BLTA, so it’s no wonder we’ve seen the PPS wander around lately.
Presumably the silence is because there’s nothing big to report — but by my calendar, the 7-week session that started in November should be over now.
Are traders waiting on an announcement from BLTA that their crews are fully trained and ready to go when they get FAA carrier clearance?
Hard to say, but down here at $0.01 BLTA definitely feels like it’s pretty close to an absolute floor — especially when you consider the potential.
BLTA wants to fly direct routes from the United States to St. Petersburg in Russia — the fourth-biggest city in Europe, apparently!
Surprisingly, nobody has thought to do that yet. Americans usually have to stop in Finland or Sweden or somewhere before landing in Russia.
And with the Russians spending $11 BILLION to promote tourism, BLTA seems to have the right idea! (Read more )
Already, foreign tourists weigh in at almost 6% of the Russian economy! That’s a bigger market for Moscow than phones or cars! (Read more )
And BLTA already has the gates lined up to take advantage of this growth opportunity — the company’s official address is at JFK Airport! (Read more )
They already bought a 747 and leased the jet engines to blast it back and forth across the Arctic Circle. (Read more )
Sadly, BLTA will have to sit out the Sochi Olympics, but it looks like that’s no loss as Western tourists delay Russian vacations until things calm down. (Read more )
It’s the follow-through that gets interesting — and where BLTA can take to the skies for traders who want to play a little ahead of the headlines!
If nothing goes wrong at the Olympics, Putin himself has twisted a lot of arms to ensure Russia stays a tourist mecca beyond the closing ceremonies.
In that event, BLTA can be up and running as soon as they get clearance and we all know the crew is ready to go.
The chart has been “taxiing on the runway” for ages now. Air traffic control, can we get a signal today for BLTA to finally take off?
See you soon!
