The whole concept of the TigerLynk is power and control throughout the entire cutting and recovery cycle.  The idea of constructing the various booms out of metal tubes is brilliant.  That means less power is required to move a longer length arm, and Hollund does not need to fight the weight of the arm as well as the weight of the timber.  A hollow boom can be made buoyancy neutral, and yet have greater strength than a solid metal slide shaft.
