Just found some articles on harvesting lake Volta. Triton was/is the company there in partnership with Clarke Sustainable Resources and were to begin operations in Sept of 2010. It was estimated in Sept 2009 that there was around 2.8 billion worth of timber in lake and I saw the following article when they began harvesting stating some estimates are as high as 5 billion. http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArc...?ID=265412
Harvesting of timber began around Feb 2013
Lots of other lakes in the region I see as well. Food for thought I suppose.
