Well...yeah, but we have to start somewhere. Coast Eco Timber had the opportunity to prove themselves via a partnership with the Kuna on Lake Gutan and then on Lake Bayano before getting the 15,000 hectare concession on Lake Bayano. Ardan International wanted way more than they got. They wanted all of Lake Gutan and at least part of Lake Bayano, but got 15,000 hectares on Lake Gutan. Coast Eco Timber wanted all of Lake Bayano, but that isn't going to happen. The Kuna wisely want competition and we should compete well. I think the Kuna get a 20% royalty on revenue (if I recall correctly from one of the articles I read about CET), so a company that can generate revenue faster, can also generate revenue faster for the Kuna and that is seductive. Having an opportunity to prove themselves with this concession should help greatly in winning more concessions in Panama and elsewhere.
