The global specialty chemicals group SKW Metallurgie optimized the structure of its leadership bodies at the beginning of 2014. The Executive Board of SKW Stahl-Metallurgie Holding AG has been enhanced by Ms. Sabine Kauper as CFO since January 1, 2014, as already communicated. Sabine Kauper was a member of the Supervisory Board of the company since 2009 and is, therefore, most familiar with the SKW Metallurgie Group. The Supervisory Board of SKW Stahl-Metallurgie Holding AG had two vacancies on short notice. Besides the change of Ms. Kauper into the Executive Board, the long-standing member of the Supervisory Board Dr. Christoph Schlünken resigned due to business reasons effective December 31, 2013. These two vacancies were filled with competence through Ms. Jutta Schull and Dr. Hans Liebler: * Ms. Schull commands about 20 years of professional experience in the chemical industry. After stints at then Hoechst AG as well as at Celanese, she has held responsible positions in the SGL Carbon Group since 2002; SGL Carbon is quoted in the MDax index. Business-educated, she has led the business unit 'Cathodes and Blast Furnace Linings' since 2009. * Dr. Liebler is an expert in financial markets, who, in particular, commands long-standing experience as a member of the Supervisory Board in publicly quoted companies. After a career start at McKinsey, and commanding a Ph. D. in business, he managed an investment fund, was partner of Lincoln Vale European Partners and has been Managing Partner of Lenbach Capital GmbH since 2012. Ms. Schull and Dr. Liebler are appointed, as is standard practice in such cases, by the competent legal court until the next Annual General Meeting, which is scheduled to take place in München (Munich) on June 3, 2014. Otherwise, the Supervisory Board of SKW Stahl-Metallurgie Holding AG continues to consist of six members and is not subject to co-determination. Member of Executive Board leaves SKW Metallurgie Reiner Bunnenberg, hitherto COO of SKW Stahl-Metallurgie Holding AG, left the company on his own request effective December 31, 2013. SKW Stahl-Metallurgie Holding AG and its hitherto COO Reiner Bunnenberg therefore agreed not to prolong the Executive Board mandate of Mr. Bunnenberg beyond December 31, 2013. The company decided in this context that the leadership of the company would henceforth be continued with two members of the Executive Board. The Chairperson of the Supervisory Board, Mr. Titus Weinheimer, thanked Mr. Bunnenberg, on behalf of the Supervisory Board and the company, for the fruitful cooperation in the interest of the company and its shareholders, and wished him all the best for his forthcoming professional plans. The decision to streamline the Executive Board is also in line with the earnings improvement program 'Every Penny Counts' (EPC), details of which were published in September 2013.
