the news said there were no deaths or injuries -so

and the only damage I've seen on the news is that area of the coastal hwy- no suggestion of damage anywhere else that I've seen-which is why this is the 1st report of damage I've seen-no reports in Ensenada itself that I've seen-
earthquakes are happening all the time without humans even noticing them-depends on how deep they are etc
I've experienced at least 1 earthquake as I was leading a hike down a slope- ground was moving-was a strange feeling
but most quakes are not even felt- its the very big ones reported by tv media that cause most damage
but smaller ones can create cracks in stratified rocks etc which may lead to changes in water tables and water draining etc- the reason why some former lakes and ponds have disappeared,as geologists have told me
it would be easy for any event, including an earthquake, to open preexisting weaknesses in sandy unstable coastal hills already prone to slides- i just know they havent officially decided whether the earthquake was a contributing factor, though it may very well have been
as article you posted noted there is a parallel older road more inland shown on map I posted w ca same mileage to Ensenada from San Diego -so lack of that portion of that toll road coastal hwy is not critical- just an inconvenience -and making old road more crowded
