the coastal road looked like a typical unstable coastal sandy area - which are prone to slides, as frequently seen in CA - and the news said heavy rain was a contributing factor-from what I've seen they dont know whether the dec 19 4.6 quake was a contributing factor
CWRN is on lee dry side of coastal range,unlike the coastal road
CWRN mine is in a rocky area which would be more stable than the steep bank where the coastal road N of Ensenada is -
and in general, since, as we both pointed out, the main fault is in the gulf of calif to East of CWRN
CWRN is thus on the generally inactive side of the fault-
these coastal faults are generally associated w tectonic plate activity as pacific plate crashes into and is subducted under the continental plate
