The curriculum will be implemented during the Capstone Experience, a three-week summer residential program for eighth graders enrolled in SEEDS' Scholars Program. Students will learn the basics of personal finance: savings, debt, credit and credit scores, compound interest, investments and risk. Students will examine the challenges of entrepreneurship, the art and science of marketing, and the law of supply and demand. Scholars will debate the pros and cons of government regulation and explore the role of public goods (like education, transportation, parks and public safety) in modern economies. In addition, SEEDS students will each follow a NASDAQ OMX stock and have the opportunity to develop their own business plans.
