"It's the most severe ailments people could have that would use the drug. (…) There are fewer side effects from medical cannabis than there are from most prescription drugs," said (West Virginia Delegate) Mike Manypenny.
He said the natural plant could be used in place of prescription drugs such as Oxycontin, that are posing problems across the Mountain State.
"We have the highest rating of disabled people per capita, and those people are paying between $700 and $1,000 dollars a month for prescriptions," Manypenny said.
