SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures ended higher on Thursday, buoyed by the announcement of additional stimulus measures in the U.S. Gold for December delivery (CNS:GCZ2) added $38.40, or 2.2%, to settle at $1,772.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, the highest settlement since late February and the largest one-day percentage gain since late June. Platinum (NYMEXLV2) rose 1.8% as concerns about labor strife in South Africa widened
